A little clarity for grown-ups.
Children’s privacy
Here is how information is used when your child plays Little Island. Please read this together before sharing an island code or using connected play.
What makes the adventure personal?
The game saves a player profile, island progress, practice answers and word-recognition history in this browser. School and class information, if entered, can be used for learning focus and finding classmates. Connected islands synchronise game data with our game server.
Playing with other people
Island visits, classmate discovery, gifts and messages can make profile and island information visible to other players. Use a nickname rather than a child's full name. Treat an island code as an access link and share it carefully.
Audio and technical information
Read-aloud uses audio files or the browser's speech service. Optional speaking activities use browser speech recognition, which may process audio through the browser provider. Browser permission alone is not a parental-consent process. The connected game also sends activity and diagnostic information to help operate it.
Website analytics
This homepage and the privacy and terms pages use PostHog analytics to count visits and see which parts parents use, so we can improve the site. It sets a first-party cookie and records pages viewed, buttons clicked, device and approximate location. Analytics is not used inside the game: island codes, names, answers and play activity are never sent to it, and links that carry an island code are not measured.
Your island code
A join code or QR link lets another device access the same island. Keep it within your family. Use the separate visit link when inviting friends to visit. Use a nickname and avoid personal information in game names or messages.
